Flavour Text - In the Name of the Empire
Plumes of smoke billowed and bustled in the breeze, forming into a central column, reaching for the
heavens themselves as they opened up and the light drizzle that had prevailed through the day
became a mighty downpour. But even this cloudburst could not put out the fires that burned
steadily and with vigor in what was once a thriving town. Now, its walls crumbled, its buildings -
people's homes - razed, and every living being - man, woman, child, cat, dog, chicken and goat -
every single living creature was now dead, their pitiful remains burning in the town-sized funeral
pyre.
The flags of allegiance, symbols of prior Imperial loyalties, lay torn and discarded where they had
fallen, their charred remnants drifting in the smoke-laden air. For these, at least, the driving rain had
succeeded in quenching the fingers of flame.
"This is barbaric," said Kal.
So long had the divide between North and South existed that not a single living person could
remember a senior from their childhood that knew anyone who could recall a time before the war.
Such stories that were told were not faded memories of times long past - but were history of a
generation long buried
How could the South remain so evil and so barbaric for so long?
Could anyone be so evil that over generations, over centuries, possibly even over millennia, they
have not changed? And could any empire remain so virtuous?
"Don't let the commander hear you saying that," said Galamor. "Leaving you hanging in a crows'
nest would be a mercy, and he's not known to be a merciful man. We did what was needed."
"But everyone? Even the children? Even the animals?" the soldier deplored.
The rain hid his tears, but Galamor could tell that his comrade was wavering, allowing his emotions
to get the better of him. He leaned in closely so that the other men would not hear his words.
"Pull yourself together, Kal," he said in hushed tones. "We've got a long road ahead of us. This
is war. What has passed here will serve as an example to others. Our enemies shall be crushed collaborators
and sympathisers will not be tolerated. Heed these words, for they may save your life."

Extract from Sourcebook - Scenario Modules
The Cursed Empire gaming system aims
to offer MT's and players alike a completely
new environment where they can let their
imaginations run freely. Combat is deadly,
which makes each an every encounter a true
challenge of wits and courage. Magic, gives
the talented, creative mind a chance to
develop a host of new spells, and always has
a surprise in store for players.
Cursed Empire supplements comprise
background modules (Darkun Supplement
etc.) or scenario modules (Dark Clouds of
War etc.). The background material
enables MT's to develop their own scenarios
and plots, whereas scenario modules
focus on a particular series of events,
places and characters, as well as providing
extra gaming material.
This supplement should be used in conjunction
with the Cursed Empire
Sourcebook, as well as any related background
supplements. It is recommended
that the MT reads the whole scenario in
order to become familiar with the plot, related
events and characters. Some scenarios
are specifically written for the Imperial (I) or
Southern characters (S). This does not
limit however the use through adaptation
for characters of the opposite side. In any
case infiltrated agents from both sides can
get involved in the scenarios as they are
written.
